Abstract

This study aims to examine the opinions and attitudes of preschool teachers about inclusive education. In the research, scanning model was used. The population of the research represents all preschool teachers working in different preschool institutions in Istanbul. The sample consists of 100 preschool teachers randomly selected from this universe. A survey form prepared by the researcher based on literature findings was used as a data collection tool in the study. The survey form was designed as a five-point Likert-type scale and consisted of questions to determine the participants' opinions on inclusive education. In the process of analyzing the obtained data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program was used. During the data analysis phase, the frequencies and percentages of the participants' answers to the survey questions were calculated. In general, it was concluded that the participants had a positive perspective on inclusive education and that this education encouraged friendship and solidarity among students and increased respect and tolerance for differences. However, some challenges were also identified, particularly the need for training of teachers, the need to provide adequate support and resources, and teachers' concerns were highlighted. While these findings emphasize the importance of inclusive education, they show that the steps to be taken for its effective implementation must be determined.
