Whistleblowing (Information Disclosure) Based on the Concept of Ethics

The concept of whistleblowing, which was first used in 1963 in the sense of whistling; it has been used to warn individuals who engage in illegal or unethical behavior. Although whistleblowing is expressed as reporting illegal or unethical behaviors within the organization to the authorized unit or person, there is no exact equivalent in the Turkish literature yet. Changes in the organization, the situation of competition within the organization, can cause the emergence of illegal and unethical behaviors in organizations. Information disclosure is aimed at protecting the well-being of the organization, preventing misapplications or minimizing the harm that may arise. Job satisfaction, which is closely related to organizational effectiveness, is defined as the ability of employees to meet their expectations and the satisfaction or dissatisfaction they get from their jobs. Job satisfaction is affected by factors such as managers' attitudes towards their employees, determination of working conditions, communication, job security, and wages. The employee's age, wishes, identity, responsibilities, and appreciation factors are associated with internal satisfaction. When the studies are examined; It has been seen that many factors take place in the basis of whistleblowing behavior in organizational practices of employees. In this study, information on individual ethics and whistleblowing is given, and research findings in the literature are included.
