Abstract

Pre-school education means the education that children receive from birth to primary school age. During this period, while children gain basic skills and knowledge, their social, emotional and cognitive development is supported. Preschool education provides children with play-based learning opportunities and encourages their curiosity. Preschool education programs, which are usually provided through institutions such as kindergartens, nurseries, and children's clubs, may include various activities such as play, art, music, physical education. A significant amount of research reveals that preschool education can improve the learning and development of young children. For this reason, participation in preschool programs has become much more common in recent years and public support for these programs has increased significantly. In this context, this study is to provide an impartial, comprehensive and up-to-date review of pre-school education based on existing science and evidence.
